Sunday Reflections
We concluded our DTR: Define the Relationship series today. I talked about defining our relationship with God. It was one of those back-to-the-basics, good old-fashioned, give-em-the gospel messages.
I really wanted to help people understand how they become a Christ Follower. I talked a little bit about my spiritual journey and the process of internalization. Then we celebrated communion.
We utilize communion as a form of altar call at NCC. I can't think of a better way to cross the line spiritually than celebrating communion for the first time. In fact, I talked about how when we drink the cup we are entering into our covenant relationship with God. Jesus said, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood." Drinking the cup is sort of like signing on the dotted line or shaking hands on a deal or reciting vows.
By the way, did worship rock this morning or was it just me? We sang a new song at Union Station which always helps me worship because I'm thinking about the lyrics more. The worship bands were hitting on all eight cylinders today. Really appreciate the way they lead us into worship!

Your podcast through iTunes is all fubar.
It has 2 messages from the "Y" series and the first DTR all as being released on 1/31/06 and it has The second DTR (first half of dating DTR) listed as 2/21/06 and it doesn't have any other podcasts listed.
You've got me hangin on the edge of my seat to hear the rest of the series!
I heard the message at Ballston Common. I really connected the part about upgrading.
We don't give up on our technology when its out of date - instead we invest in upgrading it. We should do the same thing with our faith. I know so many people who are 'atheists' based on the concept of God they have had since they were 11.
